Multi-Agency Learning & Development
Birmingham Safeguarding Children Board (BSCB), provide a wide range of learning and development opportunities for professionals, working with children, young people and families in Birmingham.
Purpose of Multi Agency Training:
Multi-agency training enables staff to work effectively both within their own agency and across organisational boundaries. Training people together can make a significant contribution to building mutually respectful and trusting relationships, which forms the foundation of partnership working. Our training reflects new learning and recommendations from Serious Case Reviews, Audits, Domestic Homicide Reviews and changes in legislation, guidance and best practice both nationally and locally. This ensures that Birmingham professionals are equipped with all the knowledge and skills to safeguard children and young people.
BSCB training aims to:
- Improve communication between professionals and others working with children, young people and families
- Develop a shared understanding of roles and responsibilities
- Contribute to whatever actions are needed to safeguard and promote the child’s welfare
- Improve assessment, analysis and decision making
- Improve effective working together based on sound working relationships.

Book your Place and Manage your Bookings:
To use this booking system, you will first need to create a user account. We have produced some step-by-step instructions to guide you through how to register on the system. Once you have done this, you will be able to manage your own bookings, access course evaluations, download your certificate and access your training history. Please note: delegates must create their own individual account. There is no facility for one person to create an account in their name and book places for multiple members of staff.
Delegates may identify a replacement from their own agency to attend on their behalf. However, confirmation of this change must be notified to the BSCB.
