Anti-bullying Training

Multi-agency Training Day
Celebrating Difference, Challenging Bullying
"We want a school where all pupils can be proud of themselves and their cultures, and of each other."
"Treat everybody as equal. Train children that everyone is special."
The quotes from young people above are from the recent government guidance on tackling bullying in schools and other children’s services.
Inspired by these words, a multi-agency training day is being planned in early October to consider how professionals in Birmingham can work together more effectively to tackle bullying across the city.
The event, being planned jointly by Birmingham's Bullying Reduction Action Group (BRAG) and Birmingham Safeguarding Children Board (BSCB) will explore:
- how to create an inclusive environment in your organisation where all feel safe and can fulfil their potential
- How to encourage good behaviour and respect for others and prevent all forms of bullying
It will also offer opportunities for different agencies to share information about “what works” in tackling bullying and be updated on the recent national anti bullying guidance, Safe To Learn, focusing particularly on:
- homophobic bullying
- bullying relating to religion, race and culture
- bullying of children with SEN and disabilities
- cyber-bullying
The event will encourage everyone to take action to reduce bullying and to create a climate in which difference and diversity are recognised.
